This walk is free but you must register as spaces are limited.Join me for a free Wellness Walk, a wonder around Bethesda with an optional dip in Afon Ogwen at the end. Staring at Ogwen Bank, through Braichmelyn forest, to Cilfodan, taking in views of Penrhyn Quarry, we will descend to Bethesda high street then walk though Parc Meurig, along the Afon Ogwen. At the end of the walk, there will be an optional swim in the river.
The distance is 5km (3 miles) with a total of 175m elevation gain – expect some uphill sections but lots of flat sections. Two hours of walking plus time for swimming/dipping in the river, which occurs at the end of the walk.
MEETING PLACE - Ogwen Bank Caravan and Lodge Park Layby on the A5. There is a decent sized layby on the A5 by the sign for Ogwen Bank Caravan and Lodge Park. Park there and we will meet under the sign. The T10 bus also stops about 10 minutes walk away, further up the A5.
There are toilets in the middle of the walk on Bethesda high street. The walk is suitable for well behaved dogs on leads. Please note there are no toilets or changing areas for the swim.
