Welcome to the Free Wellness Programme for Domestic Helpers! Join us at Mindful Space Pte Ltd for an evening of relaxation and self-care. This event is designed to help you unwind and rejuvenate, with activities such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness exercises. Take this opportunity to prioritize your well-being and connect with other domestic helpers in a supportive environment. Don't miss out on this chance to recharge and feel refreshed!

The Schedule

6 - 7 PM: YIN YOGA with Laurine

Yin Yoga is a meditative practice of holding passive stretches for 2 to 4 minutes in seated or lying down yoga poses. It promotes relaxation and improves joint health and flexibility.

7 - 8 PM: HATHA YOGA with Elaine

In this gentle hatha yoga class, Elaine aims to make yoga accessible and available to all women, whether returning to yoga after some time away or as a first timer. This class is just for you to take time for yourself, restore faith in the power and strength of your body and mind, and feel good along the way.

8 - 9 PM: EMBODIED MOVEMENT with Julia

We all need space and time to express ourselves. Often when we continue to suppress what we may be feeling, it can show up in physical tension, fatigue, or sudden outbursts. In this class, we use dance to express what is happening inside of us. It is a place where you can let go of holding, find acceptance of your feelings, and experience freedom in your body and mind. This will help you to feel more at ease and relaxed.

To prepare:

For all classes, a yoga mat will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle.

  • Please only sign up for yourself and for one class only
  • If you can no longer attend the class you have registered for, please release your ticket at least 24 hours before the start of the class
  • Tickets are mandatory. No walk-in's allowed.
  • Please let the teacher know if you have any injuries.
  • The event is not liable for any injuries. Please only attend if you are well - in body and mind.

<h4>About the Programme </h4>

This well-being programme for Domestic Helpers was started by Julia Vasko and Dr. Amy Hawthorne at SamataSoul in September 2020 and has been an on-going monthly programme curated by Julia since.
As SamataSoul closed its physical doors in December 2023, Julia is now curating and managing the programme independently to continue to support the community built by SamataSoul over the last few years. The programme will now be hosted at spaces throughout Singapore on a donation basis.
Julia Vasko is a trauma-informed somatic touch practitioner, embodiment facilitator, art curator and creative guide. Her work intersects in the creation of safe spaces for expression and connection: where stories are told, where emotions are felt, and where transformation and healing happen. She was previously a manager and art curator at SamataSoul.
