Dr. Mingyang Zheng from Radford University School of Social Work is hosting a single training session on Alzheimer's disease and social isolation among older adults. This training is FREE and will be offered on multiple days (May 10, May 17, May 24, May 31, and June 7). During the training, participants will have the opportunity to wear a Virtual Reality headset, allowing them to experience the perspective of older adults. Alternatively, participants can choose to observe through a larger screen. The training will be discussion-based, focusing on Alzheimer's Disease and the social isolation of older adults. The goal of this project is to use VR technology to increase knowledge about aging care, change attitudes toward aging, and enhance confidence in interactions with older individuals among healthcare professionals.
* Licensed social workers will receive 4 continuing education credits upon completing the training.
