FREE Textile Recycling Day! 👚📆 Saturday 15 November
⏰ 8:00am – 4:00pm
📍 Merimbula Waste and Recycling Centre, Red Hill Road (off Sapphire Coast Drive) Merimbula
Residents can drop off the following accepted textile items:
✅Clothing
✅Underwear
✅Shoes
✅Belts
✅Linen
✅Blankets
✅Small bags and hats
✅Small mats (textile only, under 50cm)
✅Towels
What NOT to bring:
❌Damp or wet items
❌Items with batteries
❌Soft toys
❌Doonas, pillows, cushions
❌Off cuts
❌Electric blankets
❌Large bags or mats (over 50cm).
Please ensure all items are dry. Wet or damp textiles CANNOT be accepted.
Staff will inspect items on the day to help minimise contamination.
💚We encourage you to continue donating quality goods to local charity shops. This event provides an additional opportunity to recycle textiles that are not suitable for resale, helping ensure all unwanted fabrics are managed responsibly.
♻️All collected items will be processed by RRR Australia. Items suitable for reuse are donated or sold to communities in Australia and overseas for re-wearing. Lower quality items are repurposed into Australian-made industrial cleaning rags, and damaged or excess textiles are recycled into new products like blankets and towels.
This event is funded by the Canberra Region Joint Organisation (CRJO).
