The Teen Book Arts Program is a three-session exploration of Papermaking, Printmaking, and Bookbinding offered free of charge to students in grades 8-12, with advance registration. This program is an excellent opportunity for students interested in the visual arts, students planning on studying art in college, or students who want to add to their art portfolio for college applications. This Spring, we welcome book and paper artist Kelly Leitermann as our instructor for all three workshops. Students will work in the KBAC Gallery classroom space immersed in the Illustrated Accordion 2025 exhibition, which features 100+ accordion book interpretations created by U.S. and international book artists!
WEEK 1: PAPERMAKING + Pulp Design
Tues.,, Feb 25, 6-8:30 p.m. Register by Fri., Feb 21. Make sheets of paper from 100% cotton fiber, embellish them with inclusions and colored pulp, then use the hydraulic and drying paper presses.
WEEK 2: PRINTMAKING–LINOCUT Prints
Tues., March 4, 6-8:30 p.m. Register by Fri., Feb . 28
Carve your design using Linocut tools and make prints on our studio press.
WEEK 3: BOOKBINDING–ACCORDION BOOK with non-adhesive cover
Tues., March 11, 6-8:30 p.m. Register by Fri, March 7.
