Welcome to the Worcester Dragon Boat Racing Taster Session!
Dragon boating is a dynamic and exhilarating water sport with roots in ancient Chinese culture. It involves teams of paddlers training and racing in long, narrow boats adorned with decorative dragon heads and tails, hence the name "dragon boat." Each boat typically holds up to 20 paddlers seated side by side, with a drummer at the front and a steersperson at the back guiding the boat.
The sport itself is enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds arount the world. Dragon boating is not only a test of physical strength and endurance but also requires teamwork, coordination, and strategy.

Meet like-minded individuals and form lifelong friendships as we train together the "Worcester Way". Participants at the taster session will be invited to join our club, continue their trainings as Worcester Dragons members and have the opportunity to take part in dragon boat racing events.

The event is open to participants 12 years and over (11 if accompanied by a paddling parent or guardian). All abilities and fitness levels are welcome. Participants, however, need to be able to swim min. 50m in light clothing as part of our safety regulations.
