Come enjoy FREE tilapia tacos by the San Marcos River! We will serve free fried tilapia tacos to celebrate the end of the 20th Biannual Polespear Tournament. These tacos are made with invasive tilapia that has been removed from the San Marcos and Comal Springs. We will be serving tacos until we run out!These polespear tournaments only target invasive fish, invasive snails, and trash out of the upper San Marcos River. All removed fish are eaten or donated for fish emulsion compost. Even though these fish are invasive, we believe they are still a resource and nothing ends up in a landfill.
