Join us at the Stanley Ferry Workshop as part of this years Heritage Open Days. The workshop, found on the Aire and Calder Navigation, is one of only two places in the UK where lock gates are manufactured and refurbished by Canal & River Trust.Join us for an exclusive visit into the workshops and take a look behind the scenes of this iconic venue and explore how Canal & River Trust, the charity that cares for 2,000 miles of waterways in England and Wales, manufactures and refurbishes their lock gates.
Hear from the experts in the workshop about the craftsmanship that goes into creating each lock gate, and learn more about the charity from our amazing volunteers.
The workshop is wheelchair accessible.
Unfortunately we are unable to welcome dogs to this event this time. But please do look out for other events where all dogs would be most welcome!
