I will be offering a FREE, 30-minute sound bath at 11:30 AM (please arrive by 11:15 AM) on Saturday, October 4 during the first annual Harvest Hustle: A Wellness Event at New Growth Project with HealthBar. This all-ages-friendly sound bath is the perfect opportunity to pause for a few moments to soak in the soothing sounds of instruments like crystal singing bowls, Tingsha cymbals, a gong named Sunny, and more, whether you have already experienced a sound bath or maybe you've been curious to try one. No registration required!While the sound bath is 100% free to attend, donations will be accepted to help support New Growth Project’s mission of cultivating meaningful job opportunities for adults with disabilities by growing nutritious food for the community.
WHAT TO BRING: It is recommended to bring something comfortable to lay on, such as a yoga mat or blanket, as well as a pillow and water. Eye masks will also be available. If you will need to sit upright for the entire sound bath, please bring your own chair.
WHAT IS A SOUND BATH? Sound healing is based on the principle that everything in the universe is comprised of energy, frequencies, and vibrations, and that specific sounds and frequencies can be used to balance and harmonize this energy inside each of us. A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience during which various instruments produce these sounds, frequencies, and vibrations to shift brainwaves into a relaxed state. In this state, a person's innate healing mechanisms can work more effectively to bring them back into vibrational alignment while balancing the mind, body, and spirit. Common examples of instruments used during sound baths include crystal and/or Tibetan (aka Himalayan) singing bowls, tuning forks, gongs, chimes, cymbals, drums, and even the human voice. The sounds produced by these instruments - which have historical reputations for promoting healing - invite you into a deeper state of consciousness, serve as an opportunity to unplug from external stimuli, and promote self-inquiry/discovery.

The Harvest Hustle is a new health and wellness-focused event bringing together local businesses, wellness providers, and community members to highlight simple, accessible ways to stay healthy as we head into the colder months. The day’s experience includes local health and wellness vendors, yoga and meditation classes, food and products for purchase, farm tours, pumpkins, and sunflowers, fall photo opportunities, and even a sack race.
