Very Brief Advice is a 30-second conversation designed to be used opportunistically with someone who smokes. It’s quick, simple, and can be highly effective.
Why it matters:
- Delivered correctly, VBA can trigger a quit attempt—either immediately or by planting the seed for future change.
- Routine and repeated delivery to all smokers is key to success.
- Smoking is a chronic relapsing condition; VBA can empower those who have relapsed to try again.

Training is available for frontline professionals and anyone working with the public in Buckinghamshire, including:
