Program to distribute free smart phones and sim cardsto residents in financial need
You must be 18 years old and receive one of the following:
• Support from the Department of Social Services (DSS)
• Medicaid – must have a non-expired Medicaid card or award letter
You need to bring one of the following to apply to the program:
• Valid NYS ID
• Benefit cards with their photo as long as they were printed within 5
years and accompanied by a piece of mail that proves their address
within a year
If you pay an electric bill through National Grid or NYSEG we also do
10% discounts on that. You will need your latest bill. There is no income
requirement for the electric discounts - everyone with an active bill qualifies.
