Thanks to generous funding from the Waitemata Local Board, Melanoma New Zealand will offer FREE Spot Checks & Melanoma Information at Aotea Square on Friday August 19th from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Pop in and see the friendly team on the Melanoma New Zealand Spot Check Van to learn about melanoma and get a free spot check*.
Melanoma New Zealand’s experienced Melanoma Nurse Educator will provide education and information about all aspects of Melanoma.
If you are planning on attending, please remember this is a public event and spot checks will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
The possibility of severe weather may exist at any time, especially with the intermittent weather we have in New Zealand. In the case of severe weather, including torrential downpours, we will endeavour to move the spot check van team indoors, however, this may not always be possible. If in any doubt about the weather on our van visit days, please call us to confirm the situation: 0800 463 526. We will update our website and social media as soon as any event details are updated so please check back here often.
*Melanoma New Zealand recommends getting a regular full body check rather than relying on spot checks alone.
The free skin cancer spot check on the van is provided by a qualified medical professional who has offered his/her expertise for anyone concerned about certain lesion(s) on their skin. Its purpose is to raise general awareness about your skin and skin cancer, and therefore a diagnosis will not be provided. As you are having just certain lesion(s) looked at, we recommend you also make your own arrangements for a more thorough full body skin check with your GP or a specialist.
