Ryan Pruess & Holy Family Catholic Community.In this powerful retelling of Christ’s crucifixion, based on the New Testament, Judas hastens Jesus’ (Jim Caviezel) downfall by betraying him to the Roman authorities. As his mother, Mary (Maia Morgenstern), Mary Magdalene (Monica Bellucci), and his disciples look on in anguish, Jesus is condemned to death. Enduring brutal torture, he carries his cross to Calvary, where he is nailed to it and left to die. In his final moments, he offers one last act of grace before drawing his last breath.
