Public safety awareness training aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to identify, assess, and respond emergencies in various settings. This training will cover a range of topics, from awareness and personal safety planning, active violence response, and case studies of previous incidents.The goal is to empower individuals to protect themselves and others by promoting a proactive and informed approach to safety, security, and protection; specifically for public places in preparation for the holidays.

Instructor: Jake Edwards of Threat Response LLC
Instructor Bio:
Jake started his professional career in 2003 as a Combat Engineer in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), and more specifically Operation Phantom Fury (Second Battle of Fallujah) in 2004 with 3rdBattalion, 1st Marines. He honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 2009.
In 2010 Jake was hired as a Contingency Skills Instructor to help support requirements for military troops deploying to hostile/austere environments. In 2012, he transitioned to an advisor based training command and within one year rose to the ranks of Assistant Chief Instructor. There his training supported military advisors deploying to over 140 countries.
In 2016, Jake was hired by one of the largest public-school districts in the country. He initially filled the position as School Security Training Specialist, since 2019 he has been the Supervisor of Crisis Management.
In 2017, Jake founded Threat Response LLC dba LEAD Tactics. Jake has collaborated with some of the top professionals in the security/crisis management industry. Jake travels the country conducting in-person training, specifically workshops, and keynote speaking engagements. Find more details at threatresponsetraining.com.
What to expect for the seminar:
Execution: Phases will take place to ensure the overall learning objective. The objective is to provide awareness for prevention, mitigation, response, and recovery in an emergency incident. Emphasis will be focused on individual ownership/leadership training.
Train LEAD Tactics℠; LEADership; through the action word (LEAD) and acronym: Lock – Escape – Alert – Defend in a PowerPoint presentation. Separately will we define and discuss conflict management and workplace violence prevention/response. Relevant case studies of prior incidents will be covered.
This session is free for all and will be 90 minutes. Seats are limited so sign up now. All attendees will be required to sign a waiver form. This is an adult (18 and up) only event.
