During SeaFeast Saturday, the historic wooden vessel Catalyst will be open for public tours at the dock. Built in 1932 as the University of Washington’s first oceanographic research vessel, she carries nearly a century of maritime history.Visitors are invited to explore her cozy interiors, browse the onboard naturalist library, read her one-of-a-kind history book, and hear the original Washington-Estep diesel engine roar to life.
Come walk the decks, breathe in her heritage, and experience firsthand the ship that helped pioneer ocean research in the Pacific Northwest.
