The Cleveland Silent Film Festival continues its program of centennial films with a landmark of Czech silent cinema from 1926: Karel Anton’s A May Tale. Cleveland’s own Harmonia ensemble (Alexander Fedoriouk, Steven Greenman, and Catalin Petrescu) will play a new score featuring Central European folk music.
A May Tale, which traces the intertwined fates of four sisters, has been painstakingly restored. The film also features a new English translation for the intertitles by Czech Cultural Center president Paul Burik.
