About this Event
We’re excited to invite small business owners, entrepreneurs, and members of the startup community to a roundtable conversation about a new proposal the Tennessee Supreme Court is considering to expand access to legal help. One idea on the table is allowing trained nonlawyers to help with certain low-risk, everyday legal needs— something that could make it easier and more affordable for small businesses to get the help they need.
We’ll start with a short overview of the proposal, then open it up for discussion about the legal issues small business owners commonly face and the challenges of finding affordable legal help. This is a chance to share your experiences, ask questions, and be part of the conversation. We will also help attendees who support the proposal craft short letters to the Court expressing their support—it’s very important that the Court hear from members of the small business community. Refreshments will be provided! Attendance is free, but please RSVP so we know how much food to provide.
