Do you have a dog or cat without a microchip? Pop down to Maitland Animal Management Facility on Sunday 9 February from 10am to 2pm, and we'll microchip them for free.This event is limited to Maitland LGA residents only; proof of residency is required, like a driver's licence, utility bill or rates notice.
All dogs must be on leads and cats kept in carriers while attending.
Residents looking to microchip more than three animals, or aggressive animals, are encouraged to call the Maitland Animal Management Facility beforehand to discuss their requirements ahead of time.
Microchipping cats and dogs is a legal requirement in New South Wales by 12 weeks of age, or before they are sold or given away (whichever occurs first).
