For the third year, Placer County Animal Services is teaming up with local elected officials to raise awareness and celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month with special adoption events and promotions.On Saturday, Oct. 4, residents and visitors can adopt any pet from the Auburn shelter for free.
Congressman Kevin Kiley and Placer County Supervisor Shanti Landon will be present to host the event, which will also feature a pet resource and safety fair, local pet-related vendors and more.

The event will kick off National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month in October, and PCAS will continue with $5 discounted pet adoptions for the entire month.
