Join the Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center for a free performance of a play on La Befana by the Italian American Historical Society of Connecticut. Plus, celebrate Three Kings’ Day with children’s activities, refreshments, decorated trees, and our temporary exhibits “The Spirit of Christmas” and “Away in a Manger: The Creation of Nativity Scenes!”According to Italian folklore, Befana aided the Magi while they were following the star to Bethlehem. Her encounter with them inspired her own journey, which continues today on Epiphany Eve.
In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be rescheduled for Sunday, January 4, 2026. An announcement of the rescheduling will be published on the McGivney Pilgrimage Center’s social media [Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) @FatherMcGivney].
This free program complements our temporary exhibition "The Spirit of Christmas." Discover through nativity scenes and other artwork the feasts and traditions that today are a part of the preparations and celebrations of the birth of Christ around the world. A supplemental exhibit "Away in a Manger: The Creation of Nativity Scenes" explores the diversity of stables and settings that house Christ’s birth. Both exhibitions will be open during the event with free parking and admission. Learn more about these exhibits at https://www.michaelmcgivneycenter.org/
