FREE PEACE CONCERT - Shrewsbury

Join members of the Yawanawa Tribe for sacred chants of the jungle, Jonathan Day, Eternal Sea, Tom Shanti & John Walklate for an evening of beautiful sounds to relax to. From contemporary folk to ancient mantras and chants the beautiful sounds from instruments such as guitar, sitar, harmonium, singing bowls, chimes, tabla will chill you. We start at 6 pm but if you want to come earlier and bring some food, we are doing a shared supper from 5 pm. We are so honoured to have these beautiful people join us for this truly special evening.

Eternal Sea, from Scotland comprises of June Meagher, Tom Grierson, Tom Shanti and Sarah Jane Luck, when she is available. Eternal Sea gigs intertwine ancient chants with the music of more contemporary artists such as Donovan, Bob Dylan, Kate Bush, Simon & Garfunkel and Leonard Cohen.

Yawanawa Tribe Casique Masharua chief – paje of the Yawarani village, one of the 14 villages based in Rio Gregorio territory. He is the leader and wisdom holder of antient prayers & traditions of Yawanawa culture. He speaks fluently native language – Nuke tsai, travelling with his family to share his message of Amazon forest.

Luan Yawanawa is 3rd son of Cacique Roque, chef of the village Yawarani. He has been studying medicine of the forest, Yawanawa culture & spirituality for past 15 years. As a part of the preparation for the spiritual path of healing and service, he has done Samakei (spiritual diets) lasting from 1-3 months in complete isolation with deep studies with the sacred medicine of the forest.

Jaine Furtado represents feminine force of Yawanawa culture, she is mother of two sons, and as well done her sacred diet focused on deeper connection with medicine of forest. She brings loving motherly frequency to the ceremonies, and equally holds the space to support participants in deepening their knowledge of themselves.

Singer songwriter, Jonathan Day's albums always get fab reviews from various Folk radio and folk magazine. Jonathan is a regular on BBC Radio Shropshire and The Midlands. Just back from a tour of Morrocco including the Festival iln the Desert, Jonathan is a very well respectsed singerl.

Tom Shanti is a musician, yoga master, and ex-Buddhist monk who teaches at workshops, events and festivals around the UK.

John Walklate has one of the most beautiful and ethereal voices and his work is heard at various festivals and events around the UK.
