Another season of growth, movement, and dirty hands is almost here! We hope you are as excited to plant some native trees/shrubs as we are! The varieties we have this year are:-Serviceberry
-Hazelnut
-Ninebark
-Pawpaw
-Elderberry
-Hickory
-Witch Hazel
In efforts to distribute as many trees to as many people as possible, we have decided to make all trees FREE if you cannot afford them, HOWEVER, we are encouraging a $5-10 donation per tree since we have many things that need funds including: new tools, new sign, tax season, fencing, etc.
So, donations really help :)
As usual, these are bareroot seedlings that are approximately 2 feet long. They are not potted in soil. They will be packaged with damp peat moss to keep the roots from drying out, but you should absolutely be ready to plant your trees as soon as you can.
The trees are first come first serve and we may be limiting them to 3 per person so stay tuned.
We will provide information on each variety and planting guides, but we recommend that you research ahead of time so you know what you are getting into.
We hope the 2025 Earthbound Almanac will be printed in time as well and will be $10 each copy if so.
We were also made aware, this year, that the DNR nursery where the trees are grown uses prison labor. Our statewide network is in communication with the folks working in the nursery and are extending additional prisoner support, fundraising, and awareness on this relationship. We will have more info at our event!
