About this Event
Join the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library (OWSL) in Hall A at the Tony Graham Recreation Complex on December 13 for a free native seed giveaway! Learn about the benefits of native plant gardening, take in a winter sowing demonstration, and pick up free seeds from more than 200 species native to Ontario.
No gardening experience necessary! At the event, seeds will be organized by their preferred growing conditions and OWSL's passionate and knowledgeable volunteers can help you find what will grow best in your space, whether it is sunny, shady, dry, or wet. Even if you don’t have much garden space, native seeds can still be grown in containers on a balcony or patio.
Visit the OWSL website for more information about weekly seed giveaways this fall, to see the new online seed catalogue featuring over 300 native species, and to shop for garden signs and magnets.
Can't make it to an in-person seed giveaways? Online seed orders will open on December 26, 2025, on the OWSL website and the OWSL will mail you seeds for free.
