This can also be known as Drawing with your Sewing Machine.
Come and learn the art of free motion sewing. Its drawing but using your sewing machine not a pencil.
We will look at several techniques and the minimal amount of equipment you will need to create unique pieces of work. It’s easier than you think.
Come and let your artistic side go wild and produce a stunning piece of work that can be used in a variety of projects including this lovely zipper bag.
In this class we will look at creating unique Christmas gifts and ideas
Skill level : Basic sewing machine skills required.
What to bring:
- 30cm of Calico
- 30cm of medium weight fusible stabiliser
- 1 packet of 'Hemline' fusible web (paper backed)
- Fabric Scraps of patterned cotton fabric including pictorial fabrics (Christmas colours or patterns)
- Dark thread
You may wish to purchase different items on the day such as blacnk cards or embroidery rings depending on what you decide to make.
Janome sewing machines will be provided on the day along with a hot drink. You will also receive a 10% discount card to use in-store.

I have been involved with sewing and dressmaking for all of my working life and nothing gives me greater pleasure than passing on my knowledge to people who want to learn to sew. I enjoy sewing, dressmaking, all types of craft and especially machine embroidery.
I have been working at the Abakhan store in Shrewsbury since it opened its doors in 2018.
