Join us for a revived and refreshed Hawaiian Kanikapila — a joyful, open-style jam where all are welcome to gather, play, and share music in the true spirit of aloha.
Led by Greg Cablayan, Carla Fontanilla, and Mike Hogan, this monthly gathering draws from a wide array of Hawaiian music traditions, from traditional and contemporary to hapa-haole, Jawaiian, and even Polynesian-inspired favorites. With guidance from seasoned musicians, participants can follow along with projected lyrics and explore strumming patterns, song styles, and the deeper stories behind the music.
Bring your ukulele, your voice, and your love for Hawaiian culture. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned player, you’ll find a warm, inclusive space to play and connect. Song sheets will be available digitally via Dropbox or email — participants are encouraged to print their own or use tablets. No food break this time — just music and community from 6:00 to 7:50, followed by a quick cleanup.
