SPUN OUT

SPUN OUT's story starts with the end of NE-HI. As their former band ended its influential half-decade run in 2019 as one of Chicago's foremost indie rock acts. While they had spent years making four-piece indie rock, their new material reflected their evolving tastes with more danceable, spacey, and heady textures. On their debut full-length, Touch the Sound, there's still some of the blue-collar classic rock influence that was part of NE-HI's creative DNA, but expanded instrumentation, experimental production, and curious dips into a variety of styles makes Spun Out a very different beast than their former band. Touch the Sound is a debut that sounds like it took years to craft, effortlessly incorporating a wealth of styles and moods without ever cluttering the overarching vision. It's a rare example of an album where, though every song sounds like it could be the work of a different band, it somehow stays consistent and enjoyable throughout.

THE KNEES

THE KNEES are an art-rock band from Chicago with uplifting riffs, shimmering melodies and skyscraper-stacked reverb. With a true knack for tight rhythmic propulsion and sonic clarity, the four-piece bounce around each other in a musical whirl of controlled chaos. Their debut EP, Posture, is an eclectic mix of punchy art-rock, post-punk, and melodic guitar-pop songs.
