This FREE Community Gatekeeper Training helps community members learn more about normal aging vs. memory loss and how to support friends/family who might be affected by memory loss that is more than normal aging. Below are some bullet points on what we teach in this training:

- What dementia is and is not;
- Visual and spoken information regarding changes in the brain occurring from memory loss/dementia;
- Age related memory loss vs. possible dementia related memory loss;
- Memory, thinking, physical and behavioral changes that occur in normal aging vs. dementia related memory loss;
- Communication with people who have memory loss;
- Safety in the home and community;
- Supporting those with memory loss/dementia who live alone;
- How to refer to the Dementia Connection Program; and
- Follow-up and resources offer by the Dementia Connection Program.
