This screening is provided by the Tazewell County Health Department and Carle Health. This project is made possible, in part, by a grant from the IDPH Illinois Breast & Cervical Cancer Program.
Women sometimes put off getting a mammogram because they’re afraid the doctor will find something. Most mammogram reports bring good news. Even if a lump is detected, eight out of 10 are NOT cancer. In the event of cancer, the survival rate approaches 100% for women whose tumors are detected and treated.
