About this Event
This program is led by Dani Holmes, founder of the Crown Jewels Dance Team at Georgia State University and director of the Future Builders Academy Mentorship Program. With years of experience in majorette dance and mentorship, Dani is passionate about creating opportunities for young dancers who may not have access to structured extracurricular programs.

π About This Class:
Join us for a free, drop-in majorette dance class designed for middle and high school girls of all skill levels! Whether you're new to majorette or looking to refine your skills, this class is the perfect way to build confidence, technique, and performance abilities in a fun, high-energy environment.
Weβll meet every Sunday at 1 PM at Wyomia Tyus Olympic Park on the soccer field for a structured, progressive training program leading up to a final showcase on June 15, 2025.
This program is part of the Future Builders Academy Mentorship Program, an after-school initiative designed to help young girls develop life skills, confidence, and a sense of community through structured activities. Our mentorship program encourages self-expression, discipline, and goal-setting, providing a safe and empowering space for girls to grow into their full potential.
β Entry Requirements:
This program is specifically for students who are NOT involved in any other after-school or extracurricular activities.
π‘ Why?
This initiative is designed to create opportunities for students who may not have access to structured extracurricular activities due to financial barriers, lack of resources, or personal circumstances. By providing a free, consistent, and welcoming space, we aim to:
β Empower students who may not have had the chance to join a dance team or extracurricular program.
β Encourage personal growth, teamwork, and self-expression for students seeking a structured activity.
β Foster confidence and discipline through a program tailored to those who may not otherwise be engaged in group activities.
β Build a strong community for students who want to develop skills, make new friends, and prepare for future opportunities in dance or leadership.
(If a student is already part of a structured team or activity, we kindly ask that they allow this opportunity to go to those who need it most!)
β³ Attendance & Punctuality:
Being on time is paramount! This is a structured, progressive program where each class builds on the previous one. Late arrivals disrupt the flow and make it difficult to catch up on technique and choreography.
β Arrive at least 10 minutes early to check in, stretch, and prepare.
β Class begins promptly at 1 PM β students arriving late may be asked to observe instead of participating.
β Consistent attendance is encouraged β skills build each week, leading up to our final showcase.
We are committed to discipline and excellence, and we expect the same from our participants!
π©° What to Bring & Wear:
β All-black attire (if wearing shorts, tights are required underneath).
β Dress for the weather (weβll be outdoors).
β Bring water to stay hydrated.
β Bring a yoga mat (optional but helpful for stretching).
β Athletic shoes required; dance sneakers/shoes recommended if you have them, but not required.

β οΈ Safety & Liability:
