Let's Walk - Banbury

Duration: 1.5 hours
Start point: Meet outside Whately Hall Hotel, Horsefair, Banbury OX16 0AN.
11.00am for 11.15am set off ///slim.skills.front
Town to Hardwick Lock 28 and Banbury Lock 29.
The walk, run by Canal & River Trust, will be led by volunteer walk leaders who are full of interesting information about the local area.
Please join us for a fun leisurely walk along the canal. You'll learn a lot and meet new people!
Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join the walk, but must be kept on the lead at all times.
WALKING ROUTE
A short walk taking in an urban area of the Oxford canal and leading out into the more rural setting as the canal heads northwards out of Banbury town centre.
As the former Three Tuns pub the meeting point is the site of the Oxford Canal Company inauguration April - October 1778.
We set off to the Oxford Canal down Parsons Street to Castle Quay.
We cross the Footbridge to the towpath side
Follow towpath northwards alongside Spiceball Country Park to
Hardwick Lock No. 28.
Short Break
Return via tow path and Grimsbury Woodland Nature Reserve to Banbury Lock No. 29 where we join a CRT welcome event.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
The great thing about walking is that you do not need any fancy equipment. Please just wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket if raining.

The walk is not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs.
