Please join us at the Las Positas College Literary Arts Festival for all of the above and more on Saturday, May 11th, from 9:30 AM -6:00 PM at Las Positas College, Building 4000.
All events are held in person. Registration is encouraged for attendance as events often fill up. You are welcome to register for as many events as you like, but please do not sign up for two or more events happening at the same time. Event times are listed on the registration page. The festival will feature speakers, panels, workshops, and children's crafts, and is free to the public. Events include writers from truely diverse backgrounds, punk rock, a zine making workshop with some of the best graphic artists and zine makers in the field; a narcan workshop; workshops in fiction writing, memoir writing, slam poetry, publishing; children's theater; the 21st annual LPC Poetry Slam; and the publication ceremony for Havik, Las Positas College's prestigious, award-winning journal of arts & literature.
Special guests include keynote speaker High Desert: Black, Punk, Nowhere author, James Spooner, Tamim Ansary, Ariel Schrag, Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket), Jaron Lanier, Dominic Lim, Tomás Moniz, Grace Loh Prasad, Tracey Helton Mitchell, Brittany Miller (TVs Archer, Woke, and Blindspotting).
