This Summer Charity walk will be free to join and no booking necessary but we are reaching out for charity donations, no matter how small, in aid of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. Saturday 29th June, 10:00am – 12:00pm, meeting at THE SPOT Carpark.
We will be walking 5.5km from the Spot Pub up towards the Golf Course in a circular through the woods back to a garden party with complimentary Pimms, coffee & cakes. It’s a steep climb to the top of Stinchcombe Hill but the views are outstanding and we will take our time so that everybody manages it up without too much of a sweat (then it’s all flat and downhill back)
Our Garden party host is Georgina Blackburn who is also undertaking a 10-day Trek in Vietnam for the cause. Her expedition in October will involve trekking 93kms through some difficult terrain and staying in remote regions.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, is a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans, and their families in their time of need.
We will have a collection bucket on the day or there is a link if you prefer to donate online directly to the charity. We will also have a raffle, so bring your pennies if you can.

About the 'Women that walk' walking group, it is for us ladies to get together on the last Saturday of every month. We enjoy the beautiful countryside and let off some steam. It’s free to join and you don’t need to book. We can chat, laugh, get fitter, feel better and get free counselling from each other, the good old-fashioned way.
Nothing too far or too strenuous, just energy boosting fresh air and enough pace to get your heart pumping. Take it at your own pace and we all support each other over any challenges during the walk.
All you need are some comfy walking shoes/trainers/boots.
There is a café or bar at the event starting and end point for those of you that wish to enjoy a tea or coffee ( or cake )
IMPORTANT -
You are responsible for your own health & safety on this walk.
Please wear suitable clothing and footwear, we never know what the weather will throw at us, it could be wet and muddy.
I have made the decision not to permit dogs, to allow this walk to be calm and trouble free for all participants. Not everyone is a dog lover and not all dogs are keen on other dogs It gives us ladies the chance to walk and talk with nothing else to think about (my own dogs are a pain in the ***)
