The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is offering a program in August to train unemployed or underemployed residents living near the Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund site for environmental jobs. This pilot program will provide participants with multiple certifications at no charge and prepare them for careers in environmental cleanup work. The pilot program can also help people connect to other training and career opportunities.
SuperJTI trainings may include:
- Hazardous Materials Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40-Hour Certification
- OSHA-10 Certification
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Basic Rigging and Qualified Signaler Certification
- Bluebeam Software Certification
- Fall Protection Certification
- Work Readiness Skills Training
To learn more and apply, you MUST attend ONE of the 60-min. information sessions held on:
- Tuesday, July 30--10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, July 31--10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, August 6--10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, August 7--10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, August 13--10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, August 14--10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Able to legally work in the U.S.
- Have access to reliable personal or public transportation to job site.
- Participate in drug testing.
