Consideration of botanical substitutes can be useful in broadening the herbalists' ability to support and balance different body systems. It can also support versatility in times of scarcity, unsustainability, or impracticality.This class will draw from Benjamin Zappin's 30 years of practice and study of Western and East Asian Herbalism to highlight practical, accessible, and sustainable ways to support the body.
You will learn:
🌿Herbs in common plant family/genus with similar therapeutic applications.
🌿Common culinary herbs and their botanical and therapeutic relationships to more exotic herbs.
🌿Flavor, nature, qi, actions, and indications of herbs
🌿Considerations for working with ‘at-risk’ plants and how to use replacements
🌿Expansion of sensory evaluation skills
