[FREE] IMAX Teacher Preview Night at Celebration Cinema Lansing

We have a curated list of exceptional 40-50 minute documentaries that were created in partnership with research organizations and museums around the world. These films are made with 3D cameras and formatted specifically for 3D and IMAX theatres to give an immersive learning experience unlike anything else!

This event is open to current educators and one guest. Registration is required. Tickets and seating are first-come, first-serve.

Butterfly Journey 3D - (with educator guides)

A story of adaptation and survival, we follow the vast migrations of the Blue Tigers of Australia and the Monarchs of North America and Mexico. With the help of cutting edge slow-motion, drone and macro filming techniques, we see the butterflies’ tiny world in immaculate detail as they overcome the challenges of metamorphosis and migration. Butterfly Journey reveals our interconnected and awe-inspiring world on the giant screen, through the eyes of the butterflies. Yet what fate awaits them when the fine-tuned climates they intimately know suddenly shift?

Sea Lions: Life By a Whisker 3D - (with educator guides)

A classic coming of age tale filled with hope, humour and wonder, told through a vast ocean that connects us all. A heart-warming journey of a sea lion pup, and the man that has dedicated his life trying to save her species. Embark on an epic quest through the uninhabited wilderness of the Great Australian Bight, to the lush kelp forests off the Californian coast. In stunning 3D, encounter giant humpback whales, cunning cuttlefish, great white sharks, and one Marine Park Ranger on a mission to find out what it takes to save a species.
