A Book Club for artists or creative souls who enjoy reading and/or listening to audio books on the topic of either art, history or mystery.
About this Event

Our small ladies social BookClub meets on a MONDAY once a month in the historic Queensland village of Eumundi.

Gathering at the Berkelouw Bookstore we then can relocate to a nearby cafe to share our experiences and joy of reading/and or listening to a selected book, on the topic of either a History, Art or Mystery.

Designed as a low pressure, super friendly small reading group we focus on learning and sharing our connections made through the journey and joy of reading.

To kick off we will aim to read once every two months a new book.

'Fifth Sun: A New History of the Aztecs', by Camilla Townsend.

This historical book traces the origins and development of the Aztec civilization. It reveals the compelling story of the Aztecs through the eyes of its own people and unveils many interesting insights into their culture, religion, and politics."

The next book we read, you get to Vote and or make suggestions!

Organiser's book suggstions below...

  1. Night Watch by Jayne Anne Phillips (Knopf) - 2024 Pulziter Prize Winning Book

  3. Wolf Age: The Vikings, the Anglo-Saxons and the Battle for the North Sea Empire by Tore Skeie who is one of Norway's most acclaimed historians. Quote, 'The first major book on the Vikings by a Scandinavian author to be published in English. Focusing on a period of about 30 years after the turn of the first millennium, Skeie constructs a pacy, dramatic account of an extraordinary period in European history... a properly absorbing page-turner... a truly excellent book' - Quote from The New European.
  4. Camille Claudel: A Life by Odile Ayral-Clause. "A carefully researched portrait of the life of the nineteenth-century French sculptor and an examination of her works are drawn from previously unpublished materials including family photographs, private letters, and medical records, in a volume that discusses her relationship with Auguste Rodin and the challenges she met as a woman..."

From the worldwide bestselling author of The Four Winds, The Nightingale and Firefly Lane (a Number One series on Netflix),The Women is a story of devastating loss and epic love.
