About this Event
NOTE: Please register for this course on the Alaska Regional Hospital website:
More than 70% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes. Less than half of
people that have cardiac arrests outside of the hospital receive CPR before a medical
professional arrives. When hands-only CPR is done right away after a cardiac arrest,
it can increase someone's chance of survival.
To potentially save someone's life, learn how to recognize a cardiac arrest and how to respond.
In this 45 minute session, you will learn the signs of a cardiac arrest and how to correctly do chest compressions using a mannequin. Additionally, you'll learn how to use an automated external defibrillator.
There will be three 45 minute sessions:
3p
4p
5:30p
This training is for general awareness and IS NOT equivalent to a basic life saver course. There will be no certification.
