This FREE, HANDS-ON training is scheduled for Monday through Friday, December 2 - 6, 2024, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Carpentry is a 40-hour introductory training covering the basics of carpentry and trades math. Participants learn accurate reading and use of a tape measure, 3-4-5 layout method, and safe use of hand and power tools. Using skills learned in class, participants build a foot stool and a set of stairs to a platform. Construction site education, safety, and carpenter expectations are also covered.
This training opportunity is designed to provide participants with an experiential understanding of a career in the construction trades and to enhance participants' abilities to gain employment within the construction industry.
*H2H classes are designed exclusively for veterans,
transitioning service members, and active-duty spouses.
