Come and explore the exciting habitats in and around the island, including a focus on the importance of the wetland on the reserve and the wildlife supported by the creation of the wetland. The walk will be led by volunteers from St. Mary’s Island Wetland Conservation Group and St. Mary’s Island Wildlife Conservation Society. We hope to see a wide range of wildlife, such as seals, wading birds, ducks and more. Meet in the conference room in the lighthouse on the island for prompt walk starts at 12, 12.30 or 1pm. The walks will take up to 2 hrs and finish on the headland. Please bring suitable outdoor clothing and boots/wellies, binoculars if you have them. You may wish to purchase hot drinks or lighthouse admission (last admission is 1.30pm) in the gift shop (10.30am-2pm on the day). Suitable for adults and older children. Booking essential. Free.
