About this Event
Do you love to play outside? Are you looking to try new things and connect with your community? Welcome to Free For All, a fun-filled morning of play for people of all ages. This event is part of a research study being conducted at Dalhousie University.
We are looking for members of the HRM community to come play together as part of a research study, led by Dalhousie University, that is looking at intergenerational play. The play session will be video-recorded, and if you choose, you can also participate in an interview about your experiences. Participating in the interview is entirely voluntary and you may attend and play without participating in an interview.
What to expect:
- Engaging outdoor games suitable for all ages – kickball, bean bag toss and tag
- Opportunities to interact and bond with people from different generations.
- All participants must agree to sign a consent form and waiver before participating (parents/caregivers will consent for their children).
Why participate:
By joining us, you'll not only have a blast playing outdoor games, you will also contribute to research aimed at understanding the impact of outdoor play on physical activity, social interaction, and overall well-being for people of all ages. Your participation will help us shape future initiatives promoting active and healthy living for individuals of all ages. Participating in the Free For All Session is entirely voluntary and you may stop participating at any time during the session. If you decide to participate in an interview, you will also receive a $50 honorarium. You will have two weeks after your interview to withdraw from the research.

Please fill out the registration form below if you would like to attend Free For All! There is a limit of 40 spaces available for the event, and 15 for the interviews. Please fill out the information for each person you are registering. We ask that all participants are age 5 or up.
