The Basque Club of North Queensland is excited to announce the "Basques in Australia" photographic exhibition, showcasing the rich history and contributions of the Basque community in North Queensland.
Event Highlights:
Multicultural Queensland Month: Celebrating the vibrant diversity of Queensland throughout August.
Dia de la Diaspora Vasca: Honouring the global Basque community on September 8th.
Many Basque immigrants settled in North Queensland, contributing significantly to the sugar and tobacco industries in Ayr, Ingham, and Mareeba.
Exhibition Details:
Conceived and Prepared in Euskadi: Under the direction of the Basque Government and the Euskal Australiar Elkartea.
Historical Significance: Highlighting the Basque-Australian history and fostering communication among Basque Australians.
On Display: The exhibition has toured Euskadi over the past two years.
