About this Event
St. Paul United Methodist Church is thrilled to bring the Spring Fling Festival to Durwood Road on Sunday, May 5, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. This fun, family event celebrates the gifts of spring and our community. Join us for a day filled with art-making, music, gardening, beekeeping, entertainment, and educational activities. Come for lunch (Hot Dogs and Walking Tacos) and stay for community participation.
The event will be in front of St. Paul United Methodist Church and at the St. Paul Community Garden, 2223 Durwood Road, Little Rock. We will close a section of Durwood Road for the afternoon. The event is free, although a food donation for the food pantry or a book for the Little Library would be appreciated.

- Play in the Inflatable bounce house.
- Master the Giant Connect 4 game.
- Play Cornhole.
- Play Pickle Ball on the St. Paul Indoor Court.
- Kids enjoy Storytime (English and Spanish) with the St. Paul volunteers.
- Explore a fire truck with the Little Rock Fire Department.
- See a real beehive in action with Calm+Confidence Beekeeping.
- Visit the on-site Cooking in Bloom classroom and taste their creations. Cooking in Bloom offers a hands-on cooking experience for kids with an emphasis on nutrition.
Educational presentations
- Expand your knowledge with information from Arkansas Master Naturalist Kate Spontak.
- Discover the Tree Replacement Project in your neighborhood and explore Arkansas Wild Spaces (learn about native plants and invasive plants).
- Watch a film with Doug Tallamy. Learn a new approach to conservation that starts in your yard and offers the opportunity to have your very own "Home Grown National Park." With Doug Tallamy's practical and achievable recommendations, we can all make a difference by understanding the trees, shrubs, and vines that feed the insects, birds, and other animals in the suburban garden.
- Hear and see the benefits of bees from Calm+Confidence Beekeeping with a beehive demonstration (see a real beehive in action), and learn about planting a pollinator flower bed.
Music at 3:00 pm
Stay for the Spring Piano and Vocal Recital. Hear the fantastic young artists from Jim Maase's studio.
