About this Event
In Quakerism's 375-year history (or so), the Religious Society of Friends has played a part in everything from human rights campaigns to international peace efforts to voting rights to care of refugees. Often, Quaker ministers have had a significant role in these movements. The Quaker concept of ministry centers on the idea that the shape of ministry is unpredictable. God might call any person to any type of Spirit-led work, but a faithful response to that call requires committing to discernment and accountability within one's community. In this event, you'll hear from Emily Provance a traveling Quaker minister who has worked in fields such as election violence prevention and shifting the balance of power in international organizations. You'll also hear from two Friends, Sabrina Jones and Jonathan Vogel-Borne with direct experience in ministry support and accountability. Following some opening remarks from the panelists, most of the event will unfold in a question and answer format.
A complimentary light lunch will be served at 12:15pm in the Common Room prior to the program start. All are welcome.
Join us in person or via Zoom.
