AAAH has partnered with The Commons Law Center to develop estate plans and provide other legal services to help families preserve and protect their assets. This program is sponsored by Portland Housing Bureau to better aid communities lacking in the financial resources typically required to hire legal representation for their affairs.
Needs based: We know that homeownership is one of the best ways the build generational wealth and financial stability, yet nearly 70% of black homeowners (76% for hispanic) over the age of 50 lack a formal estate plan. AAAH and The Commons Law Center provide free estate plans for Portland homeowners making less than 80% of the area's median income.
