About this Event
This workshop is a great introduction to the world of block printing and hand-carved stamps. Using erasers, we will explore the process of iterating, finalizing, and carving designs onto erasers to create mini block prints. This class will begin with an introduction to the instructor (Jacquelyn Tolksdorf) and block printing, followed by a warm-up drawing. Afterwards, the instructor will go over techniques for using a linocut carving knife.
The students will all have the option to carve whatever inspires them, but the still life will give them the opportunity to learn to interpret their observations into a small-scale surface. The second half of the workshop will be dedicated to carving one or more erasers to create block prints. Registration closes Oct 20.
