Free screening of "Respect My Crown: The Rise of African American Women in California Politics" is hosted by the Mervyn Dymally Institute on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at California State University, Dominguez Hills in the Innovation & Instruction building, room II 1200 (Auditorium).

Doors open at 5:00 pm and the showing time begins at 5:30 pm. The free screening is open to the City of Carson, CSUDH students, faculty, and staff.

About Documentary:

"Respect My Crown" is a feature-length documentary film, which explores the significant contributions of African American women in leadership in the areas of politics, labor, and community activism in the State of California. The film includes interviews from 34 remarkable women who are leaders in their fields.
