Balance & Beyond: Fall Prevention Class

Led by a licensed and registered occupational therapist, Balance & Beyond is designed to empower you with essential tools to reduce fall risks, improve stability, and move confidently. Whether you're looking to feel more secure on your feet or simply want to enhance your overall wellness, this class is for you!

Here’s what we’ll cover in this comprehensive session:

  • Fall Risk Screening
    We’ll start with a fall risk screening to provide insight into common balance challenges and help you understand if you might be at risk for falls.
  • Insightful Presentation on Fall Prevention
    Next, enjoy a short but engaging presentation covering the key factors that contribute to fall risks, including muscle weakness, flexibility, environmental hazards, and Medic*tion impacts. You’ll gain insight into how daily habits and small changes can make a big difference in fall prevention.
  • Hands-On Balance Exercises
    Get active with a series of practical balance exercises that are easy to practice at home. These exercises are specifically chosen to help you improve stability, strengthen core and leg muscles, and increase flexibility—all key elements in preventing falls. You’ll leave with an accessible "toolbox" of movements that can be done anywhere to maintain and improve balance over time.
  • Whole-Body Vibration Training (Optional)
    For those interested and capable, we offer an introduction to whole-body vibration training. This cutting-edge technique uses gentle vibrations to stimulate muscles, enhancing balance, strength, and proprioception (your body's awareness of movement and position). It’s a great way to accelerate your progress and add variety to your balance routine.
