In the whimsical Victorian town of Cobbleton, once-celebrated toymaker Jeronicus Jangle (Whitaker) loses his spirit and his magical toy business after his trusted apprentice, Gustafson (Key), steals his greatest invention, the sentient matador doll Don Juan Diego (voiced by Martin), and all his blueprints. Decades later, a cynical and embittered Jeronicus runs a dreary pawn shop until his creative, long-lost granddaughter, Journey (Mills), arrives for Christmas. Possessing her grandfather's inventive genius, Journey sets out to revive his passion, fix his strained family relationships with his daughter Jessica (Rose), and restore the lost magic of the Jangle name.
