WREATH MAKING
A rag wreath is a sustainable way of making a Christmas wreath that gives old materials a new life and can be reused year after year!
It’s also a sentimental way to celebrate Christmas. Why not bring along old baby clothes, the clothing of a passed loved one or that favourite top with all the holes you can’t wear anymore to use in your rag wreath!? An easy Christmas themed activity that can be enjoyed by those young and old! This activity will be free but any donations towards materials will be greatly appreciated.
Young children must be supervised at all times.
THE ADVENTURES OF THE RAINBOW JACKET BY RUHI JOSHI
This story highlights the benefits of pre-loved items and encourages positive conversations about sharing and sustainability. It aims to empower children to choose a pre-loved item–full of love, warmth, and an exciting story–over something brand new.
Join an exciting journey as the Rainbow Jacket rides through time to make new friends from different backgrounds. But where will it end?
She held the Rainbow Jacket up and fell in love with it.
She noticed a label inside that read, “This Rainbow Jacket Belongs To:”
So, in big red letters … She wrote her name on the very first line, then danced and sang, “It’s mine! It’s mine!”
The Rainbow Jacket made its first friend, and so the adventures began!
