Join us on Thursday, February 6th at 7:00 PM at the Rosenberg Civic Center for our monthly program. If you are passionate about birds and conservation, “Discover the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory – Who, How, and Why!" featuring Martin Hagne, Executive Director of the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory (GCBO) is for you. This inspiring talk will be all about the GCBO – a vital research and educational facility nestled on 34 acres of Columbia Bottomland Forest in the heart of Lake Jackson, Texas. GCBO administers critical conservation programs both locally and globally, working tirelessly to protect our feathered friends. Martin Hagne, will share insights into how birds are truly doing today, and how YOU can make a difference in their future.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the fascinating world of bird conservation and how the GCBO is making an impact. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a bird lover, or someone looking to get involved, this event is for YOU!
About our Presenter:
Martin serves as the Executive Director of the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory in Lake Jackson, TX. Previously he served as the Executive Director of the Valley Nature Center in Weslaco, Texas, a non-profit environmental education facility, for 13 years. He has
also worked as a Field Biologist doing baseline studies for many years, including avian (bird), reptile and amphibian, mammal, threatened and endangered species, and habitat studies.
Coastal Prairie Chapter programs are free and open to the public. A virtual option is available (see below). This program will be held in-person at the Rosenberg Civic Center, 3825 TX-36, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Please plan to arrive at our new time of 6:00 pm for social time and refreshments. The program starts at 7 pm.
Chapter members and the public may also attend via Zoom. Advance registration is required for attendance by Zoom. Check back for the link as we get closer to the meeting date.
